UMass Dartmouth Professor Bridget A. Teboh (History) has been awarded a 2020-2021 fellowship by the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP).
In honor of Earth Week 2021, Transportation Services has unveiled 11 new EnelX EV Charging Stations in the West Garage, giving electric vehicle owners effective and convenient charging options on campus.
The 11 stations, located on the first floor of the garage, are now available for public use.
Once a week this winter, UMass Boston master’s nursing student Mirna Flores Raudez would make her way to the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center vaccination clinic. There, she helped Spanish-speaking community members and others receive their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
“I wanted to be part of this historic time and give back a bit to all of these frontline workers working so hard,” Flores Raudez said. “The opportunity came up to have some clinical hours and more exposure to minority populations. I am Hispanic, and it’s important to me.”
UMass Boston lacrosse junior attackman Darragh Fahey has been selected as one of five finalists for the 2021 Yeardley Reynolds Love Unsung Hero Award, the One Love Foundation announced last week. Fahey is the first player in program history to be named a finalist.
BOSTON – Nearly 19,000 students will receive degrees from the University of Massachusetts over the next month during a combination of in-person and online ceremonies. Allison Butler, senior lecturer of communication, and Nathan Chan, assistant professor of resource economics have been awarded this year’s UMass Amherst College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) Outstanding Teaching Award. This award celebrates exceptional teaching, mentoring curriculum development efforts and teachers’ impact on students.
AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts Amherst has received a $1 million gift from two alumni to create a new center that will forge new collaborations between nurses and engineers, bringing together two fields that can improve personal well-being and save lives.
BOSTON – Five University of Massachusetts faculty members have been awarded the 2021 Manning Prize for Excellence in Teaching for their exemplary dedication to students and the university. The faculty members — one from each of the five UMass campuses — will receive $10,000 awards in recognition of their exceptional teaching and commitment to their students.

AMHERST, Mass. – Greg Carvel, head coach of the 2021 NCAA Division I national champion men’s ice hockey team at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, will be the commencement speaker at the university’s undergraduate ceremonies on Friday, May 14 at McGuirk Alumni Stadium.
