U.S. District Judge Denise J. Casper issued the ruling this afternoon following a Thursday hearing in the U.S. District Court in Boston. The rulings denied the plaintiff’s request to halt the student vaccinations and granted the university’s request to dismiss the case.

Two studies from the lab of Daryl Bosco, PhD, associate professor of neurology, offer new insights into the biochemical and molecular mechanisms that cause amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Understanding which cellular processes are disrupted in motor neurons in ALS and how the disruption occurs will allow scientists to identify and develop potential treatments for common defects that cross the more than two dozen unique gene mutations that lead to ALS.
The Vaccine Corps is expanding thanks to students in the School of Medicine and Graduate School of Nursing at UMass Medical School. The Sustainable Solutions Lab (SSL) has awarded its second round of seed grants to two research projects exploring the employment and maternal health impacts of climate change on lower-income and minority communities.
