President Meehan, UMass Foundation to host second annual State of the University address

BOSTON - University of Massachusetts President Marty Meehan and the University of Massachusetts Foundation will host the second annual State of the University address on Monday, March 5 at 5 p.m. at the UMass Club.

In his remarks, President Meehan will recap the achievements of the past year, highlight his initiatives on college affordability and chart his vision for the future of the university. Attendees will include students, faculty and staff from the five UMass campuses, elected officials and business and civic leaders. Gov. Charlie Baker, Lieutenant Gov. Karyn Polito, Senate President Harriette L. Chandler and House Speaker Robert DeLeo are expected to attend.

The event will be streamed live at Massachusetts.edu/StateofUMass, broadcast on Facebook Live at Facebook.com/UniversityofMassachusetts and live tweeted by @UMass and @MartyMeehan using the hashtag #StateofUMass.
