The SMART Plan allows for pre-tax contributions through payroll deduction. The SMART Plan is administered by ING Life Insurance and Annuity Company on behalf of the State Treasurer. University employees may contribute up to the maximums for both the University's 403(b) Plan and the SMART Plan.
Norman Harris, a representative from ING, will be available for individual financial counseling sessions for SMART Plan participants. If you are already participating in the Commonwealth's SMART Plan, or if you are interested in participating in the SMART Plan and would like to open an account, Norman Harris will be available by appointment only on the following date.
