When Covid 19 struck and the world ground to a halt, the University of Massachusetts sprang into action. UMass research has trained their sights on the pandemic. Our medical school students graduated early to take their places on the front lines. We all came to medical school because we want to help people, and this is a time where we really need to do that.

And other UMass, students have stepped forward to join the fight. Over these past months. UMass researchers have created Covid tests and strategies for minimizing risk, and we're now working to develop urgently needed therapeutics. UMass scientists are fully engaged in the quest to tame the most daunting health crisis of our time. As a public research university, UMass is committed to finding solutions, saving lives, and leading us back to better days.
