Hundreds of need- and merit-based scholarships are available for University of Massachusetts undergraduate and graduate students. Financial Aid

The University of Massachusetts is committed to admitting all qualified students regardless of their ability to pay tuition. Once a student is admitted, the University provides financial aid to assist qualified undergraduate and graduate students. Financial aid from state, federal, and institutional funds comes in many forms: grants which do not have to be paid back, tuition waivers, scholarships, loans, and work opportunities. Each year, the University of Massachusetts meets 90% of students' financial need.

Every student should apply for financial aid. We encourage students to complete an application in case their financial situation changes during an academic year.

To apply for financial aid at any of the five UMass campuses (Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth, Lowell, or the University of Massachusetts Medical School):

  1. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
