Adult riding course is a first for UMass Amherst.

A summer-long program of adult riding instruction at the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Hadley Farm Equine Center is a first-of-its-kind effort for the UMass Amherst riding program. It offers the public world-class lessons with the stately Bay State Morgans, which have been bred and raised at the facility for many years, and are descendants of the U.S. Army’s Quartermaster Corps Remount Service, which began systematically breeding horses for the United States Cavalry in 1918.
