UMass Boston Recognized on U.S. News 2017 List of Best Online Programs
U.S. News & World Report announced today that UMass Boston has been selected as part of the publication’s annual list of Best Online Programs.
One of the leading voices on excellence in higher education, U.S. News highlighted UMass Boston in three categories: Best Online Bachelor’s Programs, Best Online Business Programs, and Best Online Education Programs. These categories include popular fields of study such as nursing, public administration, gerontology, and school counseling.
“Online education is a critical part of our mission to offer a excellent, affordable education to every UMass Boston student,” Chancellor J. Keith Motley said. “Students come from all age groups, backgrounds, and life experiences, and the full-time, on-campus experience doesn’t fit every lifestyle. We work hard to provide a broad range of learning options—including the ability to complete degree programs entirely online.”
Programs considered in this year’s rankings include the highly rated RN-to-BS track, which allows working nurses to earn a bachelor’s degree in only five semesters, with most course activities completed online, in the community, or in the student’s place of employment.
The master’s of education in school counseling program, open to U.S. and international students, meets all Massachusetts licensure requirements in preparing students for careers in guidance counseling and other fields.
All online courses, certificates, and degree programs are administered by the College of Advancing and Professional Studies in partnership with the discipline’s respective college.
