UMass Amherst Science Outreach Club Announcement

Attention: Science Teachers of Western Massachusetts, and Beyond

Hi this is Yitzi Calm, I am a senior physics major and I am writing this message on the behalf of the Science Outreach Club here at University of Massachusetts Amherst.

The Science Outreach Club is a club of college students who can put on entertaining and educational science shows for young students in elementary and middle schools in the region. Typically we rent a van and pack it full of volunteers and cool physics demonstrations that make sparks, light up, spin, jump, go boom, are very hot or cold, or are just fun to play with, all
the meanwhile bringing an educational effort. The club is a free, community service and is very happy to come to you, or welcome you to the University to put on shows of all types, whether it be large fairs of 150 people or just an after school science club or only 15.

If you think that your students would enjoy a visit from (or trip to) this club, then please don't be shy as we will be happy to accommodate. In case you would like to know a little more information, here is a link (for now, we are currently posting a new website with a new URL) to our website.

If you have any questions or if this interests you, then please contact us by email by clicking on the links below:

With "Science Outreach Event" somewhere in the title. We look forward to this fall semester, and we hope to hear back.

Many Thanks,
Yitzi Calm
