Professional Development Opportunity in Physics & Engineering at WPI

For Grade 5-9 Science Teachers

Dates: July 9  - July 17
Cost: No charge if taken for PDPs; Nominal fee assessed if taken for graduate credit.
Location: Worcester Polytechnic Institute

We are pleased to let you know that Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has received continued funding on a grant from the State of Massachusetts to provide professional development in science content. WPI will be offering a summer workshop specifically designed for grade 5-9 science teachers. This year our workshop will focus on the physics concepts of "Energy" and include associated Technology/Engineering content.

With the grant, we do have a limited number of openings in the class. We are now opening it up to all teachers. Below is a summary of the information about the course.

Each year the workshop will focus on a different physics concept. Participation in one workshop does not mandate participation in all of them.

Workshop Information:

Workshop dates will be for seven weekdays; Wednesday July 9 - Thursday July 17

Classes will be held on the WPI campus.

Cost: If a course is taken for PDPs there is no charge. If a course is taken for graduate credit a nominal fee will be assessed.

Teachers who attend the workshop and participate in follow-up sessions will receive a stipend.
