Audience

For those who want to prepare and learn the mathematical requirements needed to pass the MTEL (09) and teach Secondary Education in Mathematics

Objectives

You will learn the basic principles and concepts important for teaching secondary school mathematics in the following areas:

  1. Number and operations
  2. Functions and algebra
  3. Geometry and measurement
  4. Statistics and probability

You will also learn:

  • what to memorize and what not to memorize
  • how to budget test time
  • what to eliminate on multiple choices â?¢ strategies for the open response questions
  • through practicing good techniques
  • why an answer is correct as well as the correct answer
  • about more than you will likely teach
