Opportunities for Educators

Leadership Initiatives for Teaching and Technology (LIFT²)

Become part of an exciting program that includes:

  • Paid Summer Externship (5-8 weeks) in innovation industry companies
  • Paid Graduate level coursework (12 credits) online and face-to-face, supporting curriculum development and 21st Century teaching and learning

The Leadership Initiatives for Teaching and Technology (LIFT²) program offers middle school and high school math, science, and technology teachers a professional learning experience that integrates graduate course-work with authentic and relevant paid externships in industry. Through this combination of work experience in industry and formal program of graduate level study, teachers improve their classroom instructional practice and school leadership abilities in four areas:

  • Experiential and inquiry-based teaching and learning
  • Application of 21st Century technology to STEM curriculum/instruction
  • Integration of 21st Century workplace skills
  • Integration of STEM careers awareness into classroom culture

We have been receiving applications for the 2008-2009 cohort, and invite science, math and technology middle and high school teachers to join a cadre of their peers in this exciting and innovative professional development opportunity.

Teachers must work in a school district within the region we serve.   Check the map on our website to see if your district is eligible.
