Climate and the Coast - Teacher Training at Waquoit Bay ReserveSummer 2008Dates: August 4 - 8 Course fee: $50Climate change is one of the most important science issues of the new century. Studying coastal climate change is especially engaging, involving studies of how land, sea, and atmosphere affect water, marshes, birds, fish, and shellfish. This course will present climate topics with a special focus on marine systems. The course will include ideas for using marine and coastal data with students as well as opportunities and ideas for participants to carry out field investigations. We will hear presentations from research scientists studying climate. Participants will receive lesson plans and a resource CD. Most appropriate for teachers in grades 7 through 10.
