UMass Medical School Core Facilities

UMass Medical School (UMMS) in Worcester supports 45+ individual core facilities.  The Central Office has been in existence for 12 years supporting these facilities which provide services internally to 300+ investigators and 125+ external academic and industry partners.  The campus just announced the Grand Opening of the Massachusetts Center for Electron Cryo Microscopy partnering with Harvard Medical School.    The campus is also host to the 2nd largest Sequencing facility in New England and the only PacBio facility in the Northeast corridor.   We are one of 5 Institutions across the country to sponsor a National Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Center.

In general, the Research Core Facilities offer state-of-the-art instrumentation in all the facilities with a large number of clinical related facilities geared toward clinical and translational science.   The majority of the facilities are open to external users with on-site training and consultation.
