UMass President's Statement Regarding Proposed House BudgetBOSTON-The following is a statement from University of Massachusetts President Jack M. Wilson on the University's state appropriation in the Massachusetts House of Representatives state budget recommendations released today. "The proposed Fiscal Year 2010 budget put forward by the Massachusetts House of Representatives would allow the University of Massachusetts to meet the needs of its 63,000 students and to advance its mission of service to the Commonwealth. The House proposal, which would appropriate $411,511,974 for the University of Massachusetts system and authorize the use of $81,637,031 in federal stimulus funds, would preserve academic programs and maintain stability at the University of Massachusetts.
