UMass: China Institute hosts Chinese training delegation
In late August, the China Institute awarded certificates of completion to over 20 Deans and Directors from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications who completed the Institute's executive training program: "Higher Education Leadership in the United States." The program was designed specifically for Chinese higher education professionals and practitioners who are involved with the Peoples Republic of China's discussions on education reform in their country. With UMass Vice Presidents, Vice Chancellors, Directors and Faculties from all campuses contributing their areas of expertise, the program provided insight into higher education governance, strategic planning, financial models, issues in students affairs, and quality and assessment. Chengchu Wang (the head of the BUPT Training Delegation) said: "The campuses of UMass are featured in different disciplines with high academic quality...I am sure that we will apply what we learned from UMass to help develop BUPT's long term strategy and planning." |
