Under Chancellor Motley's leadership and Provost Langley's vision, January 2009, the Office of International & Transnational Affairs (OITA) was created. OITA is to lead the efforts of the UMass Boston's development of academic and research programs with transnational foci; increase the availability of study abroad programs for both students and faculty; streamline administrative processes for international students; and collaborate with all members of the campus community and global partners in enriching the transnational elements of teaching, research and services.
