The University of Massachusetts President's Office is proud to be a Silver Partner with MassRIDES, a Service of the Executive Office of Transportation. If you are part of a carpool, vanpool, or take mass transit to and from work on a regular basis, than you may benefit by joining MassRIDES. By being part of MassRides you will be eligible for their 'Emergency Ride Home' program. Many people are reluctant to join a carpool because if there is an emergency at home you are 'stuck' at work. With MassRIDES you are eligible for up to 4 emergency rides during each calendar year. Also by providing proof that you use mass transit, carpool or a vanpool for two or more days per week for 12 consecutive months you will be eligible for a tax savings on your MA state taxes.
