Giving at the University of Massachusetts
Funding from the Commonwealth represents only twenty-six percent of the University's operating budget. Increasingly, UMass relies on private grants and donations from alumni, friends, foundations, and corporations to continue to provide quality education, conduct pioneering research, and offer critical public services.
Every gift is important. Help UMass support:
- Scholarships and financial aid for academically qualified students.
- Faculty development, such as endowed faculty chairs and visiting lecturer series.
- Research funds that allow faculty and students to make important advances in fields like health care, nanotechnology, computer science, marine sciences, the arts, and humanities.
- Infrastructure improvements, technology upgrades, construction, and other major projects that provide the foundation and tools needed for scholarly pursuits.
