A Note on Registering for NetworkUMass for Members of the UMass Dartmouth Online Community

NetworkUMass is the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's new online alumni community. Launched on Monday, March 24, 2008, NetworkUMass replaces the previous UMass Dartmouth online alumni community. This enhanced online network provides new features and connects UMass Dartmouth alumni to alumni from UMass Boston, Lowell and the Medical School, creating a powerful network of more than 200,000 people worldwide.

In our effort to provide the most secure community possible, new privacy policies may require you to change your user name, password, or both. If you are a member of the UMass Dartmouth online community, your entire profile has been transferred from the old community to the new community. This includes your user name and password. However, the format of your current user name and/or password may not be supported by the system in place in the new community, and may need to be changed.

The new online community requires that user names and passwords, which are case sensitive, contain only alphanumeric characters (0-9, A-Z), underscores ("_"), and periods ("."). Usernames must contain 6-20 characters. Passwords must be different than usernames, and contain a minimum of 6 characters.

If your current user name and password meets these requirements you may continue to use them in the new online community. If either your user name or your user password does not meet these requirements, you must re-register by following these simple registration steps.

• Go to www.NetworkUMass.com/Dartmouth
• Click on "Login Help" in the box at the top right of the page to register
• Enter your information.
• Select your name from the list
• Verify your record by inserting the security number that you received via letter or email from the University.
• Choose a new user name and/or password

Remember, you need only change user names and passwords that do not meet the above requirements. In other words, if your user name meets the requirements, but your password does not, feel free to keep the same username, but create a new password. If your password meets the requirements, but your user name does not, then you need only to change your user name. In either case, you will need to follow the above steps to re-register.
