University Internal Audit

Preparing for an Audit

Share |

We will request specific information at the Entrance conference. It is best to have all materials and records ready when requested, and to organize the files to minimize disruption of your day.

Before our staff visits the Department to perform the audit, it is helpful if the Department could assemble its organization chart, job descriptions for key personnel, a list of employee names and email addresses. In addition, it is helpful to notify the staff that IA functions as a business partner, willing to help assess controls and efficiencies, and to encourage staff to be available during the time of the audit to clarify any issues. We want to encourage open communications to ensure a smooth and timely audit process.
