UMassOnline Points of Pride

  • UMassOnline, the University’s nationally acclaimed online education consortium, features more than 1,500 online courses and nearly 150 online certificate and degree programs from UMass Amherst, UMass Boston, UMass Dartmouth, UMass Lowell and UMass Medical School.  Students can choose from an associate, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree in a variety of subject areas including liberal arts, education, management, nursing, public health, information technology and other disciplines.

  • Online students learn from the same world-class instructors as students who study on campus. UMassOnline programs are the same as programs offered on campus, with students earning a University of Massachusetts degree. The diploma is identical to the one earned by students on campus.

  • Programs are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and by discipline-specific accreditation agencies such as AACSB, NCATE and NLN.

  • UMassOnline, which has been providing education on the Web since 1995, continues to grow, with nearly 67,000 course enrollments, approximately $90 million in revenue and providing nearly 150 online programs, one of the largest online academic portfolios.

  • Among the awards honoring UMassOnline is the Online Learning Consortium Award for the Most Outstanding Online Teaching and Learning Program.

  • UMassOnline programs have earned coveted spots in several categories in the U.S. News & World Report and GetEducated.com Best Buy rankings.
